H.Greaves & Son are a true family business extending back 3 generations. Established by Harry back in the 1930's the business still occupies the same site at No. 1 Chequer Lane Upholland.

Harry was a man of high standards and skill and his reputation and expertise was soon passed on to his son, Anthony, who in turn passed his skills onto his sons, Robert and Christopher. Robert showed great promise from an early age and showed his skill and dedication by winning The National Young Butcher of the Year Award at the age of just seventeen.

The business has continued to expand and now supplies top quality meats to many of the North West's leading restaurants, hotels and catering establishments including such places as Northcote Manor run by the Michelin Star Chef, Nigel Howarth, Stanley House, The Inn at Whitewell and The Tate Gallery, Liverpool to name but a few.

We are also a major supplier to Nursing and Care Homes across the North West.
